Gunner — AfterCore Protocol

The Gunner is the heavy weapons specialist of the Rustborn Militia's Command Squad — a figure built entirely around the doctrine that function precedes form, and that flesh is the weakest component on the battlefield.

Sculpted in ZBrush at 32mm scale, designed for resin printing. The main challenge was mass distribution: the oversized cannon barrel needed to anchor the composition without crushing the read of the figure beneath it. The asymmetric armor plating and reinforced pauldrons had to communicate weight and protection without overcomplicating the silhouette. The prosthetic jaw and respiratory implants were the critical character beat — subtle enough to integrate naturally into the face, prominent enough to carry the faction's core belief at this scale. The low, stable two-handed grip locks the eye on the barrel mouth and keeps the whole piece grounded.
