Comms Skullhandler — AfterCore Protocol

The Comms Skullhandler is the communications specialist of the Rustborn Militia's Command Squad — the figure that bridges tactical coordination and ritual belief in a faction where transmitting a signal is as sacred as pulling a trigger.

Sculpted in ZBrush at 32mm scale, designed for resin printing. The central challenge was the oversized mechanical skull suspended by bundled cables — keeping it readable and structurally coherent at this scale without losing the ritualistic weight it needed to carry. The layered coat, communication backpack, and antenna array had to work together as a vertical silhouette that guides the eye upward without losing detail density at any level. The contrast between the worn fabric textures and the sensor-covered skull surface was key to separating the organic from the technological without flattening either.
